Craig Friedrichsen has been a financial adviser since 1996 -- helping people save and invest for a lot of different reasons. One of Craig's goals is to help people understand financial terms and ideas. He likes to explain things in a way that makes sense.
Craig is a regular guest on WIBW-AM radio in Topeka. He appears every other Wednesday morning with Roger Heaton and Jamie Slack on Kansas Live! where the discussions revolve around topics that Kansans are interested in. His normal time slot is 10:00 to 10:30.
Craig says his earliest lesson on diversification and asset allocation was taught to him on the Iowa family farm where he grew up. "Dad would plant different crops including alfalfa, oats, corn and soybeans. In addition we would raise cattle and hogs along with milking dairy cows." That's diversification plain and simple -- having different investments to spread out the risks of the market.
In the year 2000, Craig completed his studies and passed the CFP examination. According to the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards' website: "CFP® certificants must pass the comprehensive CFP® Certification Examination, pass CFP Board's Fitness Standards for Candidates and Registrants, agree to abide by CFP Board's Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility which puts clients' interests first and comply with the Financial Planning Practice Standards which spell out what clients should be able to reasonably expect from the financial planning engagement. These are just some of the reasons why the CFP® certification is becoming increasingly recognized."
At home, Craig and his wife of more than 20 years, Liz, have three children. After business hours you can usually find Craig and Liz at one of their kid's events. And sometimes they have to "divide and conquer", splitting up to be at multiple events at the same time.
Craig and Liz are also richly involved with their local church -- Corpus Christi Catholic church. While Liz is a wedding coordinator for the church, Craig has been involved with the kids' athletics program for the past eight years.
Craig invites you to contact the office and set an appointment to discuss your current situation. He wants people to understand their own investment situation and welcomes the opportunity to explain the financial planning process in easy to understand language.
